Customer Profile Questions

  1. What type of wheelchair? Manual or Power
  2. How wide is the wheelchair? From wheel to wheel
  3. What is the height of the individual in the wheelchair? From floor to top of head
  4. Are there extended footrests on the wheelchair? If so, you may have to remove the passenger seat from the vehicle.
  5. How many passengers, besides the individual in the wheelchair? Minivans will usually accommodate 3 passengers, 1 driver, and the individual in the wheelchair.

Useful Information About Rental Minivans

  • The height opening of the door is 54”.
  • The height interior, floor to ceiling is 57”.
  • The ramp width is 29 ½”.
  • The ramp will accommodate 600 pounds (this includes the wheelchair and the individual)
  • In the state of PA, occupied wheelchairs must be facing forward.
  • Scooters may be used in a lowered floor minivan; the scooter cannot be occupied while the vehicle is moving. All users of a scooter must transfer to a seat.
  • Absolutely no one is allowed to drive a rental vehicle from his or her wheelchair.
