Mobility Conversion Packages for Full-Size Vans

Pre-Converted full-size vans are mobility conversion vans that were built from the start as a wheelchair van. In essence this means that any/all structural options such as raising the roof, raising the doors or lowering the floor were completed before the interior was installed.

Why Is This Important? Cost and Quality

When VCI Mobility does a custom full size van conversion, the interior has to be removed; seats, lights, carpet, walls, TV, etc. As you might imagine, this takes a long time to do, as it must be done carefully and in an organized manner so that the material can be put back in correctly. The actual reinstallation of all of those interior items is extremely time consuming and labor intensive.

In addition, the van has changed! The van now has a raised door, a lowered floor or a raised roof which changes the interior. For this reason, certain parts of the interior now have to be re-worked to make them both look attractive and be functional in the van. The reworking of the interior is an expensive process that affects quality in that each vehicle is one of a kind. Each vehicle is a little different and, while we always get a good product in the end, there are often some trade-offs in appearance that must be made.

Pre-converted vans are able to eliminate the cost of removal and reduce significantly the installation time. In addition, because the packages — especially the interior — are built specifically for a wheelchair van, a higher quality look, fit and finish can be achieved consistently.

Delivery Time

Another advantage of pre-converted vans is that the mobility van conversion companies build vehicles for inventory which means that you can likely get your wheelchair van more quickly than if you were to wait to have one converted in the field.

VMI Tuscany Full Size Vans

The Tuscany van is the successful result of team effort! VMI joined together with Tuscany Automotive Solutions, the premier interior conversion vehicle modifier and designer in North America, to create a full-sized conversion vehicle that represents safety, convenience, value and style. The Tuscany takes the Ford E150, E250 and E350 and gives consumers and their families the extra space and options needed for comfortable and accessible mobility. *

(*Also available in the Tuscany conversion are modifications on both the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana – limited to a raised doors and raised roof.)

The Ford E-150, E-250 and E-350 are available in two different models the E-Plus series and the Echelon.

Your family is unique and you need a vehicle made especially for your needs! For this reason, the Tuscany has several structural options available for both models including a raised roof, raised doors, 6” center cut lowered floor, 6” full cut lowered floor and 6” and 2” full cut lowered floor. Other optional features include Lon-coin non-skid vinyl floor, mid-captain’s chair with quick release base, and a super spring self-adjusting suspension stabilizer – all of which are compatible with Ricon wheelchair lifts.

E-Plus Series

The E-Plus series comes standard with many luxury features including a sofa for comfort and convenience, a 19” LCD Monitor/DVD for entertainment on long trips, a 100% nylon BERBER carpet that is mildew, odor and stain resistant. In addition, there are also many other ideal features; all of which are secured by a three year 36,000 mile warranty.

If the E-Plus standard options just aren’t enough, the premium interior package should do the trick. The premium interior package upgrade includes all standard features plus leather seating, beautiful dark cherry walnut accents, heated seats, power seating and full body paint upgrades, just to name a few.

The Echelon

Accessibility or style? Why not both! The Echelon takes all the fabulous features of the E-Plus series, standard and premium, and adds just the right amount of luxury to leave you with the best possible full-sized conversion vehicle on the market. The Echelon’s two-tone leather accents, bay window shrouds, high gloss cherry walnut accent trim and indirect LED lighting makes traveling feel like a luxury rather than a chore.

Nor-Cal Vans

Nor-Cal Vans is another well-known and well-respected Ford E-Series full-size van provider. Through the years, Nor-Cal Vans has come to engineer an innovative mobility conversion that takes full advantage of the room, the reliability and the strength that only a full-sized van can offer. The Nor-Cal MAX and Nor-Cal PLUS adaptive conversions provide the ultimate in interior headroom and visibility, entryway clearance and interior space, foot room and load-carrying capacity.

Nor-Cal Max 9” Drop

The Nor-Cal Max offers the best visibility and headroom available in the industry while eliminating the need for a raised roof! The Max offers a 9” lowered floor, which provides 4 more inches of headroom and visibility than the most popular minivan conversion). The Max also offers more entryway clearance, with a 56 ½” doorway opening that meets ADA requirements without a raised roof or raised doors! Lastly, more available load-carrying capacity, more interior space and more driver and front passenger foot room with a redesigned engine cover, make for an efficient, reliable full-size option.

Nor-Cal Plus

The Nor-Cal Plus full-size van offers a full 6″ lowered floor. The Nor-Cal Plus is available in both E-150 Clubwagon and E-250 RV Converter full-size vans. In addition, it also offers more interior space and more driver and front passenger foot room, as well as a large number of options available for all needs. Lastly, the Nor-Cal Plus also offers an incredible 8 ¼” ground clearance with the Braun UVL.
