A Valuable Wheelchair Van
Honda is one of the world’s leading, respected, dependable producers of automobiles. Honda has won numerous awards including “Best Resale Value Award” in the brand category for 2009. Since handicap van customers need a vehicle they can depend on for a long time, Honda is a brand they can have confidence in for their accessible vehicle needs.

For this reason, interest in Honda wheelchair vans started immediately as it was released. However, as with any major mobility conversion, there were many design and manufacturing obstacles in making this wheelchair van product.
Fortunately, Vantage Mobility International (VMI) and Viewpoint Mobility decided that the demand was strong enough for the Honda Odyssey as a wheelchair accessible conversion van. As a result they both invested their time and resources to get this product to market. Working closely with Honda, VMI and Viewpoint thoroughly evaluated the various wheelchair conversion van options and succeeded in getting a Honda wheelchair van into the marketplace.
Awards for the Honda Odyssey wheelchair van:
- The 2010 Odyssey has received 5-star frontal and 5-star side-impact crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
- Kelley Blue named the 2009 Odyssey as one of its 10 “Best New Family Vehicles of 2009″
Honda Wheelchair Van Options
In 2006, VMI introduced the “Best-in-Class” Honda Odyssey with a wheelchair accessible conversion, and after working out some initial challenges, the product was a huge hit with wheelchair van consumers all across the country.
Today, the VMI Honda Odyssey Northstar and Honda Odyssey Summit conversions are among the most popular Honda handicap vans that VMI produces. In addition, the Honda Odyssey Northstar and Honda Odyssey Summit are also among the most popular of all wheelchair accessible minivans on the market.
Viewpoint Mobility stayed focused on their commitment to the rear entry wheelchair van market and created a design for a rear-entry Honda Odyssey mobility conversion van. Once again, Viewpoint was able to create a safe, reliable and affordable wheelchair van for those Honda Odyssey fans who also value the features and lower price of rear entry wheelchair minivans.
Thanks to VMI and Viewpoint, along with the support of Honda USA, wheelchair van consumers now have several Honda Odyssey mobility conversion vans to choose from.
