Warranty Information
On this page: Warranty Summary
When it comes to wheelchair vans, wheelchair accessible minivans and auto-mobility equipment, there are several areas that are affected by warranties and it helps you as a consumer to have a good understanding of them. The original vehicle chassis — minivan or full size van — that you start with has its own OEM warranty. The aftermarket accessible adaptations that are made to your vehicle then have their own, different, varying levels of warranty coverage. At VCI Mobility, we strive to help you understand these warranty coverages.
In the case of wheelchair accessible minivans, where the chassis and the conversion are very integrated with one another, it is good to know that the best manufacturers — BraunAbility, VMI, Viewpoint Mobility and ElDorado — have worked closely with the OEM minivan manufacturers to clearly indicate which items are covered by the original manufacturer and which are covered by the mobility conversion manufacturer. By having this information, it helps everyone to know where the vehicle needs to be taken when something is in need of repair. In addition, wheelchair minivan conversion manufacturers are concurrent with the standard 3 year/36 thousand mile factory warranty. If you have any questions as to where to take your wheelchair van or accessible minivan, please give us a call first and we will direct you. In so doing, we will hopefully help you to avoid incurring any unnecessary costs.
For mobility equipment, such as scooter lifts and assistive seating, there is little or no impact on the automobile’s warranty and we must only focus on the specific equipment that was installed. Of course, if we have to disable a feature or modify it for adaptive equipment, we usually have to forego warranty coverage for that item. Typically this is known and decided upon in advance of any work being done.
VCI Mobility will provide warranty service and repair on all of the vehicles and equipment we sell. We will also work on products made or sold by others.*
