Partial-disability products consist of a wide range of products that are designed to help us hold on to the freedom transportation provides, as long and as inexpensively as our mobility needs will allow. Partial-disability products range from very basic, inexpensive items, such as grab handles or running boards, to special seats that can help you in and out of your vehicle. Other products include lifts that can help you get your scooter or wheelchair inside your vehicle for transport.

Do you need some help? If you are like most of the people who find themselves buying or using an accessible vehicle, ramp or other mobility equipment, you will most likely need some assistance along the way. Most of us find ourselves researching the mobility industry because a life-changing event or illness causes us to suddenly need mobility products. Since it may all be very new, it can also be very confusing to the first-time user. You might find yourself asking the questions:
- What products are right for me?
- How much can/should/will I spend?
- Can I buy used equipment?
- How do I have to take care of the equipment I purchase?
- What can I do with the equipment if/when I no longer need it?
- Are there special ways to finance, insure or get funding assistance for mobility products?
Within our Consumer Center, we will try to answer these, and other similar type questions for you.
With over 30 years of experience helping people like you to choose mobility products and solutions that will work both today and as your mobility needs change over time, we have acquired a wealth of information and recommendations to share with you. Since VCI Mobility sells, rents, services and modifies wheelchair vans and mobility equipment, we are familiar with every aspect of the industry. Through articles, customer case studies, wheelchair van buyer’s guide, frequently asked questions, training and support materials, we will help you to feel more confident as you buy, use, service and eventually sell or dispose of your mobility equipment.
Do you have a specific question that is not answered within our Consumer Center? Please contact us and we will be glad to assist. If it is something we think other customers would benefit from, we will write it up and post it in this section!
