FAQs

Can I add assistive seating to my own current vehicle?

  • Potentially… The answer to this question depends on the year and make of the car as well as the size and weight of the person who will be using the seat. In general, assistive seating is almost always a good option for minivans such as the Toyota Sienna, Dodge Grand Caravan, Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Town and Country. In addition, large SUVs also have many options but we would have to assess each situation individually.

If I decide to get a different vehicle, can I transfer the assistive seating equipment?

  • If you are looking to transfer the assistive seating into the same style of car, the answer is almost always yes. Please note that there may be some additional expenses incurred for mounting hardware etc. However, we would be able to determine those expenses for you in advance.

Will removing the assistive seating diminish the value of the car?

  • Generally not. We usually can make it so that there are no visible indications that the special seat was there and there are no significant modifications that affect other aspects of the vehicle.
