VCI Mobility offers a comprehensive warranty on the products we make, sell and install. All commercial wheelchair vans, wheelchair buses and shuttles are sold with warranties that cover the vehicle’s components against defects and repairs during their “new” period.
Whether the warranty issue is on a product we make or one made by our suppliers can impact the warranty coverage. Commercial wheelchair vans, buses and shuttles are created through a combination of a van chassis and a wheelchair van/bus or shuttle conversion. A commercial conversion is a combination of components and raw materials that are assembled by the conversion company. As there are so many companies involved, and they are providing different items, the warranties vary and need to be completely understood.
VCI Mobility will work with both you and the manufacturers of the component systems in your wheelchair van or bus to be sure that we maximize the available warranty. We do so in order to provide you with the best, most cost-effective ownership experience possible.
Obtain Approval
No matter what the warranty situation, always obtain approval to diagnose and repair warranty items before doing so. In so doing, this will save you money — as many of the warranties in the market will not cover unapproved expenses. We invite you to review our detailed warranty program for additional information.
Information on the major components we supply and their warranties are as follows. Please note that the information contained herein is subject to change and is intended to be a guide, not a final warranty document.
The Van Conversions Inc. (“VCI”) warranty covers certain parts of this conversion vehicle for (1) year or 15,000 miles, which ever occurs first, and the cost of labor to repair or replace those parts. If Van Conversions Inc. receives the warranty registration card within 20 days after delivery of the vehicle, the labor warranty coverage will increase to (2) years or 25,000 miles which ever occurs first. This limited warranty covers substantial defects in materials and workmanship of non OEM (vehicle manufacture) modifications completed during the conversion process provided that the vehicle is operated and maintained properly and in conformity with the owner’s manuals. The warranty period begins on the date that the product is delivered to the first retail customer. If an independent authorized dealer places the product into any type of service prior to the retail sale, the warranty begins on the date the dealer first places such product into service.
