Where Have We Been? What Have We Been Up To?During the month of May, VCI Mobility participated in the following events:

2011 Valley Forge MS Walk

On Sunday, May 1, the Valley Forge National Historic Park was the site of the 2011 Valley Forge Area Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk. The MS Society holds its Walks as a simple but incredibly powerful way to keep moving towards a cure. VCI Mobility was on site at the Pawlings Road Parking Lot Rest Area to display a wheelchair accessible van and answer any questions the walkers had about our products and services. Founded in 1946, the National MS Society is the only volunteer-led health organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, alleviation, and cure of multiple sclerosis. For more information, visit Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the MS Society.

Families of SMA 8th Annual Walk-n-Roll Event

On Sunday, May 15, VCI Mobility was a “Silver” sponsor of the Families with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) 8th Annual Walk-n-Roll Event. The event, held at Lloyd Hall in Philadelphia, PA, raises awareness of the illness and works to raise funds for research for a cure for SMA and for ways to improve medical care and the quality of life for people affected by it. A genetic neuromuscular illness that is as common as ALS and cystic fibrosis, SMA is the number one genetic cause of death in children under the age of 2. People affected with SMA typically lose their ability to swallow, speak, and eventually move. For more information on SMA, please visit Families of SMA.

At VCI Mobility, we strive to support organizations that work to help individuals with disabilities, as well as their families and/or caregivers. If you know of other organizations and/or events where VCI Mobility may be able to share the services/products we offer, please let us know.
